Metropolitan Community College, Connector Building

Omaha, NE

Metropolitan Community College, the largest community college in the state of Nebraska, commissioned BVH for the Phase I Master Plan Implementation of their South Omaha Campus. Included in the scope of work is an 89,000 SF “Link” building that connects the College to a new City Library, as well as serving as a student center with meeting rooms and classrooms. This building also functions as a transit hub for Metro Area Transit, therefore, included in the design were roadways and drives for buses to move safely through the campus. The Link Building also connects two existing buildings, creating a new ‘spine’ on the south side of the campus and forming the nucleus for a new pedestrian mall that will be a new ‘gateway’ to the surrounding community.
