The Joseph Building
Omaha, NE
Located in urban downtown Omaha, this 10,000 SF historic warehouse building (formerly used as a small engine repair shop) was renovated to house both the developer’s personal studio and the offices of BVH Architects-Omaha.
The interior space design for Bluestone Development was intended to represent the layered and transparent relationship between owner and clients that the developer requested. Each wall was carefully designed to provide varying levels of privacy, opaque only where needed. The corner studio is totally transparent to the street, an important statement.
BVH's office is a traditional design 'studio' - intentionally open, with minimal walls and maximum natural daylighting that encourages collaborative-design, spontaneous discussion and a creative atomsphere. Use of natural materials and sustainable systems underscore BVH's commitment to environmentally friendly design.
