Grace Lutheran Church

The congregation of Grace Lutheran Church commissioned BVH to design a 95,000 SF addition to their church, as well as renovate 4,500 SF of existing space. The Church’s goal was to bring the facility up to date while retaining the original character of the church as a landmark in the community. The addition allowed for new classrooms, a new office suite for staff, a dedicated music room, enlarged media center and a larger gathering/narthex space for the congregation
To free up additional space the existing chapel was moved to the northwest corner of the site, in a more prominent location, where it became a beacon for the neighborhood.
The exterior façade of the new addition is limestone to match the existing building, resulting in a visually consistent addition to the church campus.
