St Cecilia Cathedral Restoration
Omaha, NE
BVH Architects, in conjunction with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, originally investigated the roofing, exterior walls, and sanctuary ceiling of St. Cecilia Cathedral to determine the appropriate restoration approaches for the interior as well as the building envelope. The Cathedral is a 1905 Thomas Kimball-designed structure that is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Archdiocese of Omaha accepted the recommendations contained in the report and commissioned BVH to continue with the design that fully restored the interior of the Sanctuary as well as the Ludowici Spanish tile roof.
