University of Nebraska Richards Hall
Lincoln, Nebraska
Richards Hall was constructed in 1908 as the University of Nebraska’s “Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.” The building has served several programs since the mechanical engineering program moved from the building in 1972. BVH was selected to renovate Richards Hall for the Department of Art and Art History, the College of Fine and Performing Arts, and also includes general classroom space in the form of large capacity classrooms and lecture halls. The project totally renovated Richards Hall and adapted some space in the Woods Art Building as well.
The renovation of Richards Hall brings the building up to current code requirements and accessibility standards. All building mechanical/electrical systems were upgraded to accommodate the new programs.
