BVH Lincoln Welcomes AIA Nebraska Fall Conference

The AIA Nebraska Fall Conference, Greening Spaces 2007, will be held in Lincoln on October 17-18. Part of the agenda for Wednesday, October 17 will be the Sawmill Redevelopment Tour (5:00 pm).  This tour and discussion will focus on the former Central Plains Millwork complex located at 8th and S streets in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket District. This abandoned historical industrial building was recently reclaimed as a mixed use development by “WRK Inc of Lincoln, and is the new home to BVH Architect’s Lincoln design studio.  The building also houses Weitz Construction, WRK, Inc., Senator Ben Nelson and the Bread and Cup deli restaurant. LEED certification is pending. The tour will focus on the redevelopment process and design challenges of the project along with the sustainable elements incorporated into the solution. The BVH project team will be present to discuss these and other issues facing sustainable redevelopment. 

BVH will also host the Conferences’ Welcome Reception in their offices in the Sawmill Building, from 6:30-8:30 pm.
